A singular place in the world: Venice


There's no city liKe Venice. OK, there are other cities with bridges and canals like Amsterdan. But Venice was built on the sea. Its area has 412 square quilometers and at about 270 thousand people live there. Venice has lots of ancient build, beautiful churches, museums. In its streets, you find glass craft, jewels, embroideries, and so on. One famous bar is the Harry Bar, mention in some Hemingway's books. You can taste the "grappa" and in its restaurante, you can eat lovely seafood, specially shrimps. Venice was one of the most city of Europe in the Middle Age and in the XIV, XV, XVI centuries. It was an independent republic and it became rich and famous because the commerce. Because the location, Venice has never been invaded by the barbarians. Some of famous venetians was Antonio Vivarini (1440-1480), Antonio da Ponte (1512-1595), Tintoretto (1518-1594) e Canaletto (1697-1768). Now a days, an important Movie Festival takes place there.
